Pipe Jacking
Pipe jacking is a method of tunnel construction that utilizes hydraulic force to thrust rigid pipe through the ground. Frequently a tunnel boring machine or shield is placed in front the string of pipe to excavate and support the tunnel face. In other cases, pipe jacked tunnels are built entirely through traditional hand tunneling techniques. Typical jacking pipe products include Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP), Reinforced Concrete Box (RCB), Fiberglass Pipe (FRP), and Steel Casing.
